Join the YMCA for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation -Reconciling History Tours - Downtown Ottawa 2026. In collaboration with the Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G), Indigenous guides will lead a 2 km walking tour exploring Indigenous histories, experiences, and ongoing injustices.

About the event
The YMCA invites you to take part in our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m.
The day will begin at 150 Isabella Street with a light breakfast, followed by an Indigenous prayer and knowledge sharing with Elder Irne, offering an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect together.
Participants will then travel by bus to downtown Ottawa for Reconciling History Tours – Downtown Ottawa 2026, a guided 2 km walking tour led by Indigenous tour guides in collaboration with Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G). Along the way, participants will learn about Indigenous histories and experiences while developing a deeper understanding of the ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous Peoples.
This day of reflection and learning offers an opportunity to engage with Indigenous perspectives, deepen our understanding of the past and consider our shared responsibility in reconciliation.
